Departed Akron-Canton airport for flight to Cincinnati, where weather threatened to delay the connection to New York JFK airport for connecting flight to Moscow. Thirty minutes after a time of group prayer, the weather cleared enough to allow the flight to depart on-time.

Hey everyone! We are here! We had a great trip. Tim Morris had a little motion sickness, but he is fine now. The weather is great. ... in the high 60's. We are getting ready to go to the hotel. They had a feast ready for us when we got to the church.... dark bread with cucumber and sardine, then some meat and potatoes... cookies, tea... I'll write more later, they are rushing me. Tomorrow we start... we need your prayers. We love you. I miss you Leah and Kaylee.

Love, Dan

Hey everyone!

We had a great day. You can be proud of your kids. In the morning we went touring the city and on the boat people were swamping us... asking questions. We had several opportunities to witness. No one shied away from the opportunities. It was a great start for the trip. Everyone is in great health. Christy Robb is even eating odd things, we are amazed. Tonight we had a youth activity in a new church plant. First we played soccer... we lost 9-2. Brian twisted his ankle... all the girls are babying him. We witness... talked ... and Monday we are going back with the gospel and dramas. Pray for results. Everybody slept in this morning... except Brian and I. We were up at 4:30 Am. The meals are awesome. Everybody is getting along great.

Love you guys. Thanks for the prayers and the e-mail. Take care of my sweeties and I'll take care of yours.

Expecting God's Best,
Dan

Rachel Pack: Things are truly unbelievable here. God is doing so much; so many blessings. I love and miss you lots! smiles. love, Rachel

Mike and Julie: Hey parents! we love you lots. Hope things are good at home (are we moving?). We are having so much fun. praise the Lord, o my soul. I love I, I love it, I love it!!! (stop worrying mom. your prayers are being answered.) feed my fish please! love, Mike and Julie

Christy,  Hey mama, dad, and Corry (exclamation with a heart for the bottom part) I love you guys! This is such an incredible experience, thanks for your prayers. I'm eating everything, and I haven't gotten sick! praise the Lord, Jesus rules (another heart exclamation) love, Christy

Lindsey: Hi family, it's incredible here. I'm taking lots of pictures and writing everything down, mom, so you'll hear everything later. relax with no kids at home and tell Tyler and JD I love them. remember - even there, lots of love Lindsey

Janie: Hey Mom, Dad Lauren! Oh My! It is wonderful here! Very Fulfilling!!! Your Prayers are being answered. The Lord is doing great things. NO Golf courses here!! Tell Betsy I said Hi and that I love her! I love you all and miss you very much!! Love, Janie

Brian: I love you guys. Everything is going good. I got hurt in the soccer game but Paul saved my life by taping my ankle, I'll probably live. Thanks for the e-mail. Love Brian (A.K.A- The Driller.)

Paul: Hi Mom, Dad, and Laurie. I miss you guys lots. God is at work and doing great things already. Much love. See you soon Natasha's cool!!! I'm taking pictures for you Dad. Love always Paul.

Dan: Leah, I miss you sooooo much. Can't wait to take you to Russia. Everyone is asking when you are coming. The Youth Pastor Sasha has a little girl, 2 years old, last night her Mom was holding her and she saw her Dad. She made that noise that Kaylee does and put her arms out for her Dad to carry her. It made me miss home. Love Dan

What happened today: This morning we had a group devotion at 8:00 a.m. the group is growing spiritually and the unity is the tightest I've ever seen. At 9:00am everyone is eating, at 10:00am we tore down a building, but first we had to clean out everything. Boards, pipes, windows, etc.. It took three hours all together. Then the demolition began. All eleven were working and praising God; we made Brian quit because of his ankle, so he video taped. We were Mexico dirty, boogers too. We had lunch at the church, and then to Dimitry's house for fellowship and tea.

Tonight: Tonight at church the Lord was present. We praised God in the different languages but we all felt the Spirit among us. It's so cool to see different people worshipping the same God. We also saw spiritual growth w/ our group. Last night Dan asked us what was the best part of our day? Our answer tonight would have to be the service. It was truly a blessing. We were able to share our testimonies, which led to many tears. All of us got closer to one another and to the Lord. Praise God! Continue to pray for us, especially as we minister on Sunday. We love you.

We all were invited to Dmitriy's (the pastors) house. They are very friendly, hospitable and appreciative of our service. We are excited to work several more days with him. We love you lots and miss you!

Thanks

Hey everyone!

We had a busy and fruitful day... it's late and people are waiting for me, so I'll be short. We had a ministry at the village today and 21 people accepted Christ. The teens did great! God is really blessing. I'll send a longer note tomorrow.

Love you guys!
Dan

Saturday/Sunday
June 17-18, 2000

Hi there everyone.

Sorry about not sending out an e-mail yesterday. We were exhausted, but exhausted in a very good way.

Your prayers are being answered. We had a couple more people repent today in church. When they came up front it was a bit different than in America. They publicly declared their sins in front of everyone and talked about what Jesus meant to them. Yesterday we had an opportunity to do street evangelism. It was very cold, but everyone was excited and many people heard the gospel. Our translators are not believers. One is an agnostic and the others are in to religion as opposes to a relationship. However, we are witnessing their defenses coming down. We will have an opportunity to be with them tonight and play volleyball. We consider it an honor if we just have the chance to plant seeds with them even if they don't accept Christ at this time. 30 pastors are coming in August and they will serve as translators for them as well.

We have been swamped by little children who treat us like movie stars wanting our autographs and pictures with us. Every morning we feel spiritually empty, but God has been faithful to fill us up everyday. Everyday we give everything we have. "Mom, we can't wait to hit the couch." We can definitely feel your prayers because if we were doing this by our own strength, we would have ran out the first day. The dramas have been a big hit. It makes us sad to know we have to that we are leaving here in 2 days. As of now we have no more set times for specific ministries, but we are sure God will continue to provide opportunities. This will be the last e-mail we are able to send. Each person says they miss their family very much and we are especially thinking of our Dad's on this Father's Day! There is no Father's Day in Russia, but today they celebrated Pentecost. Apparently, it is the third most celebrated holiday next to Christmas and Easter.

We love and miss you all. Thanks for praying for us. We will see you soon.

Love in Christ,

Wow! What a reunion we had at the airport. The kid's flight from New York was delayed by about 2 hours but as soon as they arrived many hugs and kisses were exchanged. The faces on all the young missionaries showed the wear and tear of the long hours in the air. Our missionaries were back from a life changing experience, one that we as parents believe will have an impact not only on their lives, but in the life of our church body and on the lives of the church in Russia.

So that everyone could re-live what had happened in Russia, all the students and their parents got together at the home of Tom and Julie Wichert. After some GREAT food we all sat down and watched a video that was taken of the activities of the past two weeks in Russia. One of the highlights on the video was when Pastor Clancy asked each student to share what the trip had meant to them.

Please let me take this opportunity, on behalf of the parents of the young missionaries, to thank each one who helped our children make this trip. Your generosity and prayer support was overwhelming. Thank you!
