Proclaim Your Praise

By Pastor Larry Bennett

We rejoice in a great year at The Chapel.
We rejoice in Sunday attendance equal to or greater than a year ago.
We rejoice that our offerings are greater than our expenses.
We rejoice in the positive, Spirit-filled attitude that exists at The Chapel.
We rejoice in lives that were changed this year.
We rejoice in those who made decisions to trust in Christ as Savior.
We rejoice in a gracious, faithful God who has accomplished all of this.
We rejoice in a great year at The Chapel.

Besides his countless daily blessings, this year our Father has humbled me via physical and emotional problems. He has shown His Word true yet again, by opening my eyes to some "problem" areas in my life and my desperate need for Him. I thought I was doing just great by my own efforts. Big Mistake! He is so faithful!

To Our Brothers and Sisters in Christ:

Throughout our season of unemployment, God has been gracious to us to provide just what is needed. The prayers of all of you have encouraged and upheld us in the power of the Holy Spirit and the precious grace offered by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Even though we have reduced our expenses as much as we could and put our house on the market as well, expenses have exceeded income each month of this journey. Through the provision of Jehovah by the generosity of our family and church family, we have seen needs met every month along the way.

Our faith is strengthened, our joy multiplied and the peace of God is ours as we daily seek Him, abiding in His presence. We thank you sincerely for your faithful prayers, gifts of all types, and words of encouragement. We love you.

I praise God for leading my family and me to a Christ-centered, Bible-believing church where we can worship freely, learn the Word of God through sermons and ABFs and watch our children regain their joy for the Lord. Having Seth and Vanessa participating in worship teams, Sara in College & Career fellowship, and knowing that Seth's desire to go into the ministry is all because God's plan for our family was to be a part of The Chapel in North Canton. Finally, watching Julie's excitement in the Ladies' Bible Studies and my being asked to preach, has been truly a blessing.

How can I begin to thank God for everything He has done for me in the past year, during my bout with breast cancer? I can almost say I'm glad it happened because of what I've learned about God's faithfulness. I'm especially thankful for God leading us to this church because without the prayers of The Chapel members, I don't know how we would have gotten through it. I thank God every day for His faithfulness and yours.

Oh, how our Abba Father has been faithful to my family this year, with ever-present love and strength there for the asking! Brian and the choir prepare my heart for receiving Pastor Bennett's message, which always has a special point to put into life's walk. Special friends like Clarence who help me grow in prayer time. Pastor McCartney with adult leadership, who has a joy and love for our Lord in whatever he does. We are truly blessed and there's no better place to be spiritually fed than here.

What an awesome God we serve! Even though our lives get difficult and our spirits sag, God is so faithful and true!

Christmas with all the trimmings was left on our doorstep this week by God's angels on earth! What a blessing from our Father in a year when so many are having hard times.

Tears and lumps in our throats were all the responses we could muster, and great thanks and praise to our Heavenly Father for who He is and how intensely He cares for us. From the deepest part of our hearts we want to thank our Father for His gift of Christmas in His Son, Jesus Christ, and for His love for and faithfulness to us, not only this holiday season but every moment of our lives - His love is unceasing!

Matthew 6:33-34: "But seek first the Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." (This verse was left among our goodies.)

One of my favorite passages in all of Scripture is Psalm 107. Oh, that men would praise the Lord for his goodness and his wonderful works to the children of man.

What a delight these verses are to me. We as a church have been blessed of the Lord to be able to meet together in our new edifice. We should praise Him for His mercies that are new each morning, and I personally am aware of all of God's blessings to me.

I am thankful for our staff, our services each week, our marvelous music and choir of which I find joy to be a part of. God is so good! Read this chapter and be blessed.

2001 was a milestone year for the Fitler family and we can testify to an amazing God who provided just what we needed just when we needed it. We praise Him for blessing Justin with the opportunity to go to a godly, Christ-centered college, for blessing Valerie with a smooth transition into Middle School, for blessing Patty with a tremendous work and ministry opportunity at The Chapel and the privilege of witnessing His work firsthand, and for blessing Joe with the opportunity to minister alongside the quality men of the Deacon Board. We praise Him for granting us a Home Group and leading special friends into our lives, and for the awesome revelations He's shown us in the book of Isaiah. We praise Him for simply being all that He is. He has shown us indeed that He hears, He sees, He cares, He knows and He is in control. Glory and honor to Him forever and ever...Amen!

On January 14 and 21 Pastor Larry introduced us to "The Prayer of Jabez" from 1 Chronicles 4:9-10. Since then I have asked the Lord daily to bless me greatly, enlarge my territory, to let His hand be with me and to keep me from temptation and from myself.

On January 22 my grandson, Brian, who had spent the first two weeks of his life in the neonatal unit at Aultman Hospital, celebrated his first birthday! We are so thankful.

On February 19 my husband was admitted to the hospital after suffering a stroke and remained there for 60 days. God blessed me with strength.

At spring time, God enlarged Brian Kieffer's territory enabling him to lead our Easter Cantata with a four-day notice.

On the Sunday after September 11, Pastor Larry, who was out of town, left at 6 o'clock in the morning to bring comfort to his congregation as Pastor Happy Peterson gave the sermon.

The Lord's hand enabled Pastor Larry and Dave Phelps to fly safely to Russia and back amidst the chaos and uncertainty following the destruction in New York City. He provided the same for those who followed.

On October 27 my grandson Zane became one year old. He was a gift from God and one whose mother thought would never be born.

As the year comes to a close, with Pastor Larry teaching us about the Ten Commandments, I am working on keeping myself from evil, from temptation and from myself.

I love my church. I love my pastor and I am so glad to learn about and help our sister church in Yaroslavl and for their pastor's visit with us.

And finally, I am reminded of Pastor Larry's words to us from his sermon on "From Covetousness to Contentment" on December 9. That is, remove our eyes off of others, desire the right things, and to enjoy God and life. The Chapel is the place for me!
