Dear
Christian Brothers and Sisters,
Well,
another year has passed, and if your year was anything like mine,
there were some highs and lows. I truly hope there were more highs
than lows for you. The wonderful truth is that through it all Christ
was with us, loving us, supporting us, and giving us His very best
even during the times we fell short or turned away from Him This alone
is enough to cause us to rejoice. He didn't stop in '95 and He
continues forever and ever with us - His children (Hebrews
13:5,6).
We
have just celebrated His birth and reflected on His great gift of
salvation to us. We have also decided to be better Christians in the
coming year. I know there are many areas of my Christian walk that
need work. It is wonderful to know Christ will be there to help me,
and even if I fall short again, He will love me just as much as
before. Yes, we have a very patient and caring Father for today and
eternity.
So,
as we look forward to a new year with great hope, don't worry about
all those resolutions. Remember all we do and try is under the
watchful, loving eye of an all-knowing Savior that only wants the very
best for us. As 1
Corinthians 13 says, "His love never fails." Keep
that though in your heart as you walk through this coming year.
