Welcome to another great year of AWANA! AWANA is for
children from Pre-school till 6th grade and,
starts at 6:25 pm in the Family Life Center. Cubbies
will go to their classrooms a 6:25 pm. They will learn a
lot and, have a lot of fun but, most importantly they
will build upon the foundation of God’s word, in their
hearts and minds. Our evening consists of four
following activities.
6:25 – 6:30
Opening Ceremony. All the Sparks and T&T's will be
together in the Family Life Center preparing there
hearts and minds for the rest of the night activities.
6:35 – 7:05 Handbook time
takes place in small groups where children recite the
verses they have memorized during the week. The
children work at their pace, but we suggest two pages
per week in order to complete the book. Please initial
the pages your child has ready. Your child will be
rewarded with patches, pins & jewels to wear on their
vests or shirt as they complete sections within their
books.
7:05 – 7:35 Council time
is where the children hear a Bible story or object
lesson. We will have missionaries or guest speakers
thought the year. We also recognize the children who
have earned awards.
7:35 – 8:05 Game time (required unless a note from
parent)
is a favorite of all the kids. Tug-of-war, run races,
bat balloons, and lots more.
8:05 – 8:15 Large Group Time in the Family Life Center for closing announcements
and prayer.
After the last
session you are to pick your child up in the Family Life
Center by 8:15 pm. Please note that you will be signing
your child in and out at the AWANA check-in table.
Please review the map attached for further information.
Your child will not be released until a parent comes to
the room to get them. The Children’s Ministry Area will
be locked by 8:30 pm so if you are going to be late
picking up your child please call and let us know.
The cost
for the entire year is $35 per child (book $7.95,
vest/shirt $12.95, & dues $15). You can reuse your vest
or shirt from last year if you have it. If your child
has a book to complete they can start with that one
first then buy the next book at a later date. AWANA
dues help us have the special nights like bring –a-
friend, root beer relay, and others. There are
Scholarships available, or if you would like to sponsor a
child, please contact us.
Please review the
attached forms to see the AWANA schedule for the year,
map and first night instructions, and
registration/medical release form. AWANA night is a
time for children to learn God’s word and have fun. We
would like that the children keep all mp3 players,
electronic games, and cell phones (unless they have a
note from parent) at home. If your child has a cell
phone please let them know that during AWANA time it
should only be use in case of emergency (no texting).
If they have an emergency they should also let their
leader know so we can help them.
We are looking
forward to another great year in learning God’s word.

What is AWANA?
The acronym comes from the first letters of
“Approved
Workmen Are Not Ashamed” from 2 Timothy
2:15. AWANA is an international,
Bible-centered program for children ages 4 through Grade 6. Each Wednesday
night children are provided with an opportunity to learn more about God
through Bible verse memorization, Bible lessons and game time. If you would
like to help out, AWANA currently needs 2 leaders for Cubbies (preschool
group).
